A few Cardinals at the Feeders

image

Late one evening, with the sun going down, these Cardinals were still feeding before day’s end.  With my passion for sun and shade I could not resist shooting this image.  It’s going to be in the low to mid 60’s in Central Illinois today.  You want to enlarge the image for a better view.

Just to let you know I’m still around.

I haven’t fallen off the edge of the earth.  Lately I’ve been involved in some other interests…reading for the most part.  Some reading having to to with photography…composition and depth of field mostly, and also I’ve been catching up on some of my non-fiction and fiction favorites.  Winston Churchill’s,  “Their Finest Hour,” and Kipling’s, ” The Man Who Would Be King,” and, “Kim,” to mention a couple that are high n my required reading list.

Purple Crocus Pop Up

image

First of all, I had to shoot this image from inside our home and I was using my Power Shot Canon A590 IS, so I couldn’t get a larger image or a frontal shot. It was COLD outside! (Wish I’d grabbed my DSLR.)
Crocus pop up in Central Illinois in early March, usually, and only bloom for a week or two.  They come in five colors: Pink, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Purple, and White…they grow in both Spring and Fall and need full Sun or Partial Sun. We only see them bloom in the Spring at our house.

Cat tracks in the Snow

image

A couple weeks ago I captured this image of our neighborhood cat, Blondie’s tracks, after he traveled along our driveway.

Blondie getting down from atop our Carrier/Shelter

Blondie, one of the Feral Cats in our neighborhood, climbs down after resting in the sun.  He’s been a bit under the weather lately but seems to be bouncing back as of this posting.
